You guys. I have waited and waited to do this session. If you have any siblings, you understand that feeling you get when you just know one of them is about to get engaged. My baby sister got engaged in July and it was perfect. Her fiance included their dog (she’s also in the pictures), which means it was amazing. Ever since that day, I’ve been patiently waiting to get to do their engagement pictures. And if I could be in two places at once, I’d be shooting their wedding too. But I can’t. It’s a strange feeling having your little sister be engaged to be married. We’re only two years apart so Melinda and I have been really close our whole.entire.lives. And I thank God for that. It’s a tough pill to swallow some times when I realize that there’s someone else who gets to take care of her now (if you’re an older sibling you get me right now). But just being around them this past weekend for a couple hours, with no one around, no interruptions, and watching the way he makes her laugh. It might just be that spoon full of sugar I needed to make the pill go down. I still don’t think she’s old enough to be doing this, because no matter what, she’ll always be my baby sissy. But golly, am I happy for these two.
Russ, welcome to our beyond crazy family. There’s no turning back now. Sissy, I love you more than you’ll ever know. You’re going to make the most beautiful bride. Ever. And I am so thankful to be able to stand up there with you.
