I’ve known Alyse since high school! We’re actaully celebrating (is this the right word to use in this case?) our ten year reunion this summer. SHS Class of 07! Go Scorps! 😉

Alyse and her sweet family were so much fun to be around, and here’s another cute fact for ya. She and her hubby Chris have been together since high school. I know, the sweetest. The teams will be even up now though because the Novak’s just welcomed a beautiful baby boy into their family! I wish they lived closer!

I was so thankful when Alyse set this session up, mostly so we could catch up! Crazy how now we’re talking just about mom things together. I was also so looking forward to meeting her sweet daughter and seeing her hubby again.

Alyse is so beautiful, wait until you see some photos of just her! And her family is perfect!

It’s been a little bit since I’ve dedicated some time to my sweet blog. I’ve been so busy with so many incredible shoots!

Time to play catch up. Stay tuned for some beautiful families heading to the blog.

Before that though, here are some pictures from our first family vacation we’ve ever taken! Crazy, kinda? We decided super spur of the moment to do it too, which makes it even better. It also gave me so much less time as a mom to pack all the things we’d never need. Even going for four days though, our car was packed. You just never know when you’ll need not one but two vacuums! Just kidding.

We headed over to Tampa and stayed a couple days on Indian Rocks Beach. Such a quaint little town and also happens to be less than ten minutes from my sisters house! We loved the slow pace of our days, but like every “vacation” ended up filling our days up.

We did the Lowry Zoo, Florida Aquarium and the Children’s Museum in downtown Tampa! If you’re a mother to tiny humans and live any where close to downtown Tampa, I can not suggest getting a life time membership to the Children’s museum more. Honestly. As a stay at home mama I was insanely jealous I didn’t have this place to take Em every day.

Orlando, please build the same exact thing here. Thank you.

Praying you’re summer is getting off to a beautiful start!

If you’ve never been to Kraft Azalea Garden in Orlando, you need to put it on your list. This is the second time I’ve had the privilege of doing a shoot there and it makes my heart so happy.
The grounds are beautifully kept with simple flowers, because the real star of the show there are the giant Spanish moss trees that shade the garden. It sits right on a lake in Winter Park, and it’s pretty much the most perfect spot for any photo session.

I met Rachel at a blogging conference a couple years ago and we’ve kept up with each other on social media ever since. We met up with a bunch of other bloggers too right before I moved to Orlando, and I’ve got to tell you that this girl knows whats up in Orlando. I met her husband Dave for the first time at our shoot, and when I tell you their one of thoooose couples, I’m not kidding.

They were such a joy to be around. Super laid back, but most importantly Dave kept making Rachel (and me) laugh, which is always the best. Their sweet baby girl Maxie (I mean, could her name be any cuter?!) was due on Christmas! I joked with them that if they wanted to, they could have her come on the 20th which happens to be my birthday.

Baby girl Maxie was born December 20th!

I’ve just never been more flattered 😉

Enjoy these beautiful photos of these amazing *new* parents!

I have had the pleasure of taking family pictures for my big sister for over six years now, but this might have been my favorite session so far.

You see my sister is due at the beginning of February with a boy. A BOY. For those of you who don’t know me well personally, I’ll tell you that this boy is the first boy in our family (besides our dog Duke, who’s a human trapped in a dogs body). Three girls, two granddaughters, to say this little man is long awaited would be an understatement. I honestly have no idea how my dad is going to handle it.

I’m already dreaming up our newborn session, hello all the cute baseball pictures you can think of!

My niece Reagan is going to make an excellent big sister and I can’t wait to see her in that role. She’s the sweetest to my Emily and I know she’ll love this little boy so much.

Here’s a fun and totally weird fact for you about my family. My niece Reagan was born on my brother in law Russ’s birthday. Emily, my little girl was born on my other brother in law Mike’s birthday. AND THIS LITTLE BOY is due on my little sisters birthday. So weird, right?!

I can not wait to meet this little boy! February, hurry up!

Please meet Callan Ford, who surprised his parents almost a month early!

Tina and I met through an Instagram meet up a couple years ago and I was actually supposed to shoot her maternity photos, but Callan had other plans. And you guys, when you see this face, you’ll understand why I, and I think mom and dad, loved that it turned into a newborn shoot.

Tina and Taylor are one of those couples that are so easy going. I had never met Taylor before, but you’d think by the way he talked to me and kept the conversation going we’d known each other for years. Always such a plus. Tina was such a trooper for just having gone through birthing a child almost a month early. I told her so many times that I would have just freaked out. The planner in me might not have been able to do it! Tina welcomed her little man, and her new role as a mother with such grace.

Now let’s talk about Blondie. You guys. I can’t even with how stinking cute this dog is. Apparently, she isn’t a giant fan of being in photos but I seemed to have that special touch. There was a part of me that wanted to try and steal her, but decided Callan growing up and those photos are almost too cute to talk about.

So many thanks to Tina and Taylor for letting me capture these photos! Callan is absolutely perfect!

fbcoverHi friends!

Happy New Year! I hope your holidays were absolutely perfect.

Every year around this time I sit down and figure out what it is I want out of this little business of mine. I write out my goals, hopes, and dreams for the year ahead and mostly, give it all to the Lord.

The last couple of years have been a little tough for my business wise. To be totally honest, it’s all my fault. I didn’t do the greatest job of time management, and let things slip by without my full attention. I will however, give myself some room to wiggle…I am raising a beautiful human, which does take up some time. 😉

But this year I wanted to really, really make things happen for Megan Elizabeth Photography. And the best news of all, is that I know exactly how to make that happen.

I’ve toyed with the idea of moving completely away from weddings for a while, and I’ve even talked about it on my blog here that I’ve scaled way back. Let me be super honest here and say that I haven’t had a ton of inquires for weddings either, which I am certain is the Lord at work in my business telling me that moving completely to maternity, newborn and lifestyle is what I’m supposed to be doing.

So there’s the big news folks! No, it’s not baby number two.
I’m completely moving away from weddings as of January 2017 and into lifestyle sessions!

I love everything about weddings, don’t miss that here. But my heart just isn’t there anymore. I always felt like I couldn’t keep up with the industry, to be totally honest. I have so many amazing friends who do wedding photography, and they inspire me so much! But I’m ready for the change.

If you’re currently housing a human, just brought one into the world, or want to update that family photo in your living room, I’m your girl!

I can’t tell you how excited I am to be making this transition, and pray that God will continue to bless this business of mine.

Katie is one of my very best friends. We met while working at a coffee shop and by the end of our first shift together we had plans to move in with each other and get a puppy.

Those plans didn’t quite pan out the exact way we had hoped, but I think I can speak for her too when I say that the way things did end up going, was wonderful.

Katie is genuinely one of the nicest people I’ve ever met…which means we really balance each other out ;). She’s kind and super considerate and always there when you need her.

Katie and Tom met in Alaska which is an amazing start to relationship alone, and I knew from the start that this was something different for Katie and something so so so wonderful.

I didn’t actually get to meet Tom until I took these engagement photos, and I can say without a doubt that Katie has found her match. They’re both total weirdos. And I say that from being a total weirdo myself. Tom is also the most smitten with Katie that I’ve ever seen. And I’ve been around a lot of couples. The way he’d look at her made my knees shake! They are so sweet together and it’s an honor to be in their life.

We had the session at a new wedding venue in Brevard County, called Field Manor and it is a dream!

They’re an old married couple now, I told you I’ve been behind on blogging. But you can never say congratulations enough to newly engaged or newly married couples.

So congratulations you two love birds! Thanks for letting me snap these photos!
