Spring is finally here. And I have to admit that I was eager and waiting for it. Sarah and Cody’s wedding was the perfect start to the season! It was held at Hollis Gardens in Lakeland, Florida being the most perfect backdrop to their day. The flowers are blooming and the sun was out. I couldn’t even complain about being “hot” that day because I was so happy it was finally warm. This wedding was long awaited and worth it, as you could hear quite often from family and friends there. These two have been together for over five years! The love they share is so sweet and I am so honored to have been a part of their day. Sarah was stunning, and Cody…who I’m convinced took some sort of modeling class once because he was a natural in front of the camera, are perfect together. The blues and sea shells will have you longing for the beach. I promise. Everything about the day screamed Sarah and Cody, who then headed off to Hawaii for their honeymoon. I can’t even begin to tell you how jealous I am. Your day was wonderful you two! Thank you so much for letting me be a part of it! And such a big thank you to my wonderful second shooter Angelique! Congratulations Sarah and Cody! Dress: Davids Bridal
I literally couldn’t wait to get home and edit this session when I left the Rick abode on Tuesday morning. Everything about the session {that I may or may not have stressed about the night before} went perfectly. Please meet Baby Ezra. The most handsome baby boy around. Who also just melts your heart…and who will have you raging with baby fever. He was the sweetest boy, and slept almost the entire time. I kept saying over and over again how I’d love to be that age for a day. To sleep, eat, {and poop} and not have a care in the world. Once you see the photos of him sleeping, like his daddy said, “he’s just so peaceful looking”. Brooke and Anthony are the youth leaders at the church I attend, and are two incredible people. Thank you both for letting me hang out with your beautiful family! Silas is the best big brother!
I started planning this styled bridal shoot almost a month ago. I found this beautiful venue just looking through local photographers work, and knew instantly this was where I needed to have my shoot. I met with the owner, Jessica Tuten, who immediately blew me away with kindness. She and I had the same vision for the shoot, and I was over the moon excited when she said yes to letting me have the shoot there. Up The Creek Farms is a beautiful and romantic setting for weddings and receptions in South Brevard County. It has eight acres in total, with huge oak trees that make you swoon. They’re building a barn to host receptions and other events, which will be up and running this fall. The house on the property is 130 years old, and filled to the brim with antiques. In so many words, it was the perfect location for the vision I had for the shoot. And my bride and groom. They happen to be my older sister and brother in-law {you’ll also see my niece}. I came to my sister with the idea and she immediately reminded me that she still {after 7 years} doesn’t have her wedding pictures. Fellow photographers, I know…I know. So the idea that these could me her “almost” wedding pictures made my heart as happy as could be. My sister is stunning. And my brother in-law is a total goofball which makes my job so easy. A huge thanks to my mom and little sister for doing hair and makeup! If you are a bride, or looking for a venue for an upcoming event, please consider Up The Creek Farms. Contact information is at the bottom of this post.

If I had to pick a word to describe Nick and Michelle’s wedding, it would be love. The obvious choice, yes. Michelle contacted me back in JANUARY to shoot her wedding. So to say that we had been waiting for her big day for a while, would be an understatement. And oh my goodness, was the waiting worth it. Every detail in this wedding screamed Nick and Michelle. From the flowers, to the bow tie, to the anchors and colors. Everything was planned out to perfection. All I heard all day was how happy people were for Nick and Michelle…and how happy they were that this wedding was finally happen! Here’s the cool part about all of this. I’ve known Michelle since high school. We were, in fact, supposed to be roommates at Florida Southern. So much has changed since then. I didn’t attend FSC, she did, our lives are so different since then…but the one thing, that stayed the same, was the love Nick and Michelle shared. Their love was by definition, supposed to be. And I couldn’t be any happier for them! Michelle made a stunning bride, and Nick looked so handsome in that bow tie! We don’t really have “fall” here in Florida, but Michelle did a beautiful job of incorporating fall colors into her wedding, southern style. I can’t thank you two enough for letting me be a part of your special day! It was truly a blessings! Congratulations Nick and Michelle!
